Artist statement/Biography:

Since the age of five, when I found a gallon jug of glass beads in my Grandmother’s closet, glass has become a common element though my life. I owned and operated a commercial glass business for over 20 years.

1986 marked the beginning of my artistic career with glass, when I started glass etching, carving and custom glue chipping to create interior design and functional art glass pieces. Later, I discovered the techniques of glass fusing and lampworking, which opened the door for incredible possibilities of color, shape and texture. Fusing and lampworking allow me to push the limits of my imagination and the medium. Glass, fire, electricity and chemicals- how much more fun can creative expression be ?!!

Infusing my work with recycled materials, glass rods, dichroic glass and other techniques; carving, etching, gold leaf, airbrushing, electroforming, kiln and torch work; has allowed me to develop my own line of finely executed designs in the fused and lampwork glass market. Jewelry, beads, functional art, and household items are just a few of the pieces in my ever evolving line.
